Volunteer

Want to get involved in a great community of people who care about Humboldt Bay? Become a Humboldt Waterkeeper volunteer!

Volunteers are the heart of Humboldt Waterkeeper - it is only through the efforts of people like you that we can be an effective force for clean water and a healthy coast. Plus, volunteering is fun!

Contact us today at info [AT] humboldtwaterkeeper.org or (707) 499-3678 to join our Volunteer Network and help us with projects such as:

Review and comment on project proposals - this is an ongoing and ever-changing need! Contact us if you are interested.

King Tide Photo Initiative (winter months): Photograph specific sites along the Humboldt Bay shoreline during the highest tides of the year to document areas vulnerable to sea level rise and erosion.

Coastal Cleanups: Earth Day (April) and Coastal Cleanup Day (September) events to remove trash from beaches and riverbanks, keeping it out of the bay and ocean. Suspended in 2020 due to COVID-19 - check back in 2024.

Fundraising events - Help plan benefit events and/or volunteer at the event.

Outreach Team - Represent Humboldt Waterkeeper at community events such as Godwit Days (April) and the North Country Fair (September).

Office Assistance - Occasional envelope stuffing sessions, database entry, etc.

Our Water Monitoring Program is currently searching for new funding soources.

Research on policy issues is always a big need, as is grant writing. Experience required.

And Everywhere Else You Can Think Of! Drop us an email with your ideas about how you can help protect Humboldt Bay.
