The new Humboldt Bay Trail audio tour features interviews with local experts covering 40 points of interest between the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center and the south end of the Hikshari' Trail in Eureka.
The tour covers 12 miles of trail and features the bay, its history, flora and fauna, climate impacts, and projects to adapt to climate change, clean up Brownfields, and restore former marshes and wildlife habitat.
Stories play automatically as you pass GPS points. QR codes for the tour will be added to existing trail signs in the future but you can easily access the tour now by downloading the izi.TRAVEL app onto your phone and clicking the red dot on the local map or entering Humboldt Bay in the search window. You can also listen to the web version from the comfort of your own home. Thanks to volunteer extraordinaire Wendy Ring and all of the experts who contributed their time and expertise to this wonderful celebration of Humboldt Bay and the Bay Trail!
