From April to October, Humboldt Waterkeeper offers tours of Humboldt Bay and nearby coastal areas with a wide range of partner organizations, including Centro del Pueblo; Community Access Program for EurekaCUMBRE Humboldt, which provides educational and enrichment opportunities for Latinx families and individuals; English Express, the non-profit English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) school; Queer Humboldt; the Canvas + Clay Studio, an art program for adults with varying abilities; Two Feathers Native American Family Services; and the County Library's Summer Reading Program.
In September, we held a kayak-based cleanup of Tuluwat Island in partnership with the Wiyot Tribe, the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, Hog Island Oyster Company, and Explore North Coast. Photo by Sylvia van Royen.
This year’s tours were funded by the State Coastal Conservancy’s Explore the Coast grant program as well as support from individual donors. If you know of a community organization interested in coordinated Bay tours for their members, please contact Jasmin Segura, Bay Tours Coordinator, at This email address is being protected from spambots.
