If you support protecting ocean biodiversity on the North Coast while minimizing socioeconomic and tribal cultural impacts, make your voice heard in the Marine Life Protection Act's public process. Attend a meeting, submit comments, and stay informed.
There have been many community meetings with commercial and recreational fisherman, tribal citizens, conservationists, divers, kayak fishermen, oyster farmers, kelp harvesters, and other interest groups.The meetings are now focused around regional stakeholders who were nominated by the community and chosen by the Marine Life Protection Act Initiative Team (MLPA-I).
The North Coast Stakeholders group has met a number of times to discuss possible locations for marine protection, and now is looking to members of the public to voice their opinions.
