To date, 150 California cities and counties - including the City of Arcata - have banned single-use plastic bags. The results of these locally adopted policies are reduced litter and the elimination of an unnecessary threat to wildlife and the environment. After its bag ban, San Jose found a 60% reduction in creek litter and an 89% reduction in plastic bag litter in storm drains. Plastic bag companies from South Carolina, Texas and New Jersey are funding the highly deceptive campaign against Prop 67, and have also put the deceptive Prop. 65 on the ballot.
