The Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District is applying to permanently dedicate a portion of our water rights to instream flow for environmental benefit. The proposal would incorporate the current water releases for instream flow into the District's water right, to license as much of the water right permit as possible under California's "use it or lose it" system.
No changes are proposed in the flows that have been in the river since 2009, and no changes in District operations.
