Local author and illustrator, Joan Dunning, will be signing copies of her new children's book, Seabird in the Forest, at the Humboldt Baykeeper office during Arts Alive on November 5 from 7 to 8:30 pm. Joan's original oil paintings will be on display. She will be available to answer questions about murrelets, and will also personally inscribe and autograph your copies.

Seabird in the Forest, with its simple narrative text accompanied by scientific notes about life in the canopy of the ancient redwood forest, is a great way to share Humboldt with those who live far away. Depicting the day-to-day life of a Marbled Murrelet chick, it is an informative and intimate look at the life of a famous Redwood forest seabird.
